Psalm 1 [NKJV]
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
I’ve told you before; if you have the right key, you can get access into anything. Certainly there are keys to be utilized by the children of God as it pertains to his kingdom. To leave home without your keys is to lock yourself out from kingdom blessings that rightfully accompany your citizenship in a holy nation and your kinship in the family of God. You’ve heard it said that “All of God’s children got shoes” but my point is to remind you that all of God’s children got keys!
One such key we have is the key to prosperity. I thank God for it. In my opinion, we ought to desire being as abundantly prosperous as God would have us to be in connection to our assignment. No, there is no cookie cutter formula for measuring real prosperity. How real prosperity looks in the life of one child of God may not be the same way it will appear in the life of another. What might be considered prosperous for one person might be considered as poverty for another. It all depends on a number of factors; yet this much we ought not be confused about: true prosperity extends far beyond ‘the bling bling’ of material possessions. In fact, “The Benjamins” as highly as they might be rated really don’t weigh that heavily in the life of a person in need of health, peace, joy or even a real friend or companion. There are so many things that money can do to make life more convenient and comfortable but there will always be certain things that money can’t buy. As kingdom kids, we should never get that twisted; less we mistake the wrong keys of prosperity.
Personally, because of the whole context of scripture, I’m persuaded that true prosperity encompasses a balanced perspective and appreciation for both material resources and the invisible, soul riches that are able to cause long, deep and lasting satisfaction.
Nevertheless, we’ll need to have and access the right keys to get to this great wealth that God is more than pleased to give to his children.
Yet, there is one master key to true prosperity that we don’t hear about as often as we used to. Nowadays there is a lot of talk about gimmicks and short cuts; but is there anybody who know that there is still an old land mark; a master key that is sure to unlock the door to all of the prosperity you could use in your life? This key is called the key of “obedience!” Yes, it’s quite simple; cant nobody do you like Jesus!
In other words; there might still be a small remnant of people who know God well enough to know that when God blesses you it is done! It is finished! It is complete! In fact, when God blesses you; there is no fear of losing the blessing or having it stolen by anyone else because what God has for you is for you and no devil in Hell can take it away.
With this thought in mind, we do well this week to focus on one thing and one thing only; obeying God! So, you there; keep it simple; just do what HE says. That means get into his word and into your prayer closet and don’t come out until he has spoken to YOU. Then, when you come out; come out with the unstoppable determination to obey HIM. Then and only then will you have discovered a true master key into the real prosperity for God’s people. Then and only then will YOU be like “ a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever YOU do shall prosper. “
